Disco Soul Gold CD Two

In 2017 Nigel Lowis produced one of the best compilation soul albums ever, DSG Volume 1, it spent 8 weeks at the #1 spot which extended it's CD demand right through until today. Having kept you waiting a good eighteen months to introduce Volume II. It is with pleasure that we present to you a timeless collection of 19 new songs that you will love and treasure for the rest of your life. If you go through the wardrobe of Nigel Lowis, you will not only find Tweed jackets and designer shirts but unreleased gems from musical giants.

About Nigel Lowis
The Genius of Nigel Lowis will change your mood with his uplifting hands in the air type anthems, classy Philly styled gems and romantic ballads. Nigel gets his influence from many parts of the world such as Memphis, Philly, Detroit, London, Prague, & New York.
Brought up in Brixton with the sound systems of yesteryear be it Street Soul, PIR, Reggae or Motown, Nigel has the ear to be able to pick up a guitar and groove, you just cannot help but to groove along too. Just how many other producers can cover a Chic production, put their slant on it and have a crossover top 10 hit as he did with Maureen Walsh for Polydor.

Nigel has worked with Dina Carroll, Eternal, Be Be Winans, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Burt Bacharach and many other huge greats from the 'who's who' in the music industry although Lowis is not one for shouting about it, but if a name like Lamont Dozier crops up in conversion, he will add "Oh I wrote a song with him".

DSG Vol 2 The Album - Various Artists...

The Story of DSG started with SouLutions so it is fantastic that they have allowed us to revisit 'Philly Line" with a first-time Nigel Lowis mix, the song has been re-vocalised and reproduced to give it a completely new Philly vibed up version for 2019.

Paul Reid (Nightcrawler's), Steven Dante and Rebekah Ryan were in the Lowis wardrobe of classics songs that only he and they knew about, the songs are suited and re-booted giving them a crisp edge for today's ears.

The first single from the new DSG Nigel Lowis Vol 2 CD album is Kenny Thomas's wife Francisca Thomas, who was born in Cape Town in 1982.
She came from a very musical family and was singing from a very early age, in fact her first TV appearance was in South Africa when she was only 8 years old!
She has performed in several groups along with her sisters, travelling all over South Africa doing shows.
In 2003 she was a finalist in pop idol in South Africa and went onto signing a deal with EMI records.
In 2007 she visited the UK to do some gigs, on one of these gigs in Cheshire, she met Kenny, they were were both performing on the same bill that evening, the rest as they say is history, marriage, kids, Housework, which to a degree prevented her from getting on with her music, but she still managed to write songs for Kenny, along with other artists and do some recordings herself.
She hopes to be able to record more material in the coming months.

JULY 21st-  DSG SUMMER CRUISE - LETS GO ROUND AGAIN with Gary Spence (Solar Radio), Gary Van den Bussche (DSG & Starpoint Radio), Nigel Lowis plus special celebrate guests.
'Clouds In My Mirror' was written by the talented Francisca and co-produced by Nigel Lowis who gave the song it's Memphis feel.

Kenny Thomas - 'Back To Broadway' was first written with George Benson in mind, Thomas loved the track and was really up for recording the song, with maybe some Benson licks forthcoming in the future.

Jimmy Gallagher oddly gets his first release on a DSG CD, although a stable DSG artist who we've released tracks on previously and lets face it, this man can seriously blow the house down and here with The Dig Band paying full respect to the likes of our orchestras back in the day namely Brass Construction, MFSB & Salsoul

Teddy B was first spotted by Mark Franklin singing on-line, his details were passed to Gary Van den Bussche who then helped him promote his first couple of sides to then suggesting he cut a track with Nigel Lowis. Lowis just happened to have the perfect song that Teddy B helped him finish for the CD.

(Georgie B, Francisca Thomas, Ellis & Tilly Grace)
Patti Austin - Terry Jervis approached Quincy Jones with the idea for a song, book and movie, Quincy Jones then suggested his goddaughter Patti Austin to sing it. This track was first used as the launch for a shuttle to Space, then Jervis got in touch with Gary Van den Bussche for suggestions for a remix release. The song will be featured in a forthcoming movie that is currently in production with Lego. As for the music, great to have Patti Austin back in our CD player.

Peter Symporien - originally featured on DSG Volume 1 CD, but is now featured here with the cool Fitzroy Facey in a Norman Whitfield nod to cool grooviness, that at first might sound different but the more you hear it the more you'll be replaying. Watch out for dance mixes of this soon! Peter Symporien, Marc Staggers, Roger Samuels (fresh from The Voice), Hannah White, Jimmy Gallagher and Lowis Nigel aka The Soul City People, originally a whole album project idea almost like Louis Vega's NuYorker Soul, but many of the tracks have now been released on DSG or featured remain in the wardrobe for another time. Soul City People track was written by Nigel Lowis & Ola Onabule.

Ellis ... This is a first & we are proud to present Ellis.
the song was co-written by Lowis, David Morales & lElis with Patti Labelle in mind . Nigel is currently working on Ellis's forthcoming album project overseas where she is signed to a major label, they thought it would be great to give you all a preview of this great ladies talents.

(Georgie B, Gary Van den Bussche & Gary Spence)
Lol Williams is a singer that Gary Spence discovered when he saw him singing live which lead to the original version becoming a favourite on his Solar Radio show. Nigel Lowis The Artist features for the first time here as a soloist in his own right and who knows, maybe an album to follow if this track is well received.  Clif & Freda Payne follow their #1 smash 'No Payne, No Gain' with 'Yesterdays Payne, Tomorrow Joy', now with a Thom Bell influenced arrangement, that Bell even thumbed up himself when he heard it, the version that was on Clif's album last year was not the finished mix, so here it is for the first time.Fiona Yorke - Love For Me was a runaway #1 Gospel/ R&B hit and although played on soul radio in the UK, we felt this new mix would give the song another chance with it's new exciting direction.

Tilly Grace the youngest, so no doubt the hippest member of the DSG family, takes time out from recording her follow up to 'Ghetto Superstar' with a song she originally recorded as a jingle for the BBC Soul show.

Hannah White sounds completely at home and snug with this co-written Burt Bacharach styled lush vintage classic 'Tell Me'.  Marc Staggers who we all know and love, sings one of the finest ballads of the year, which is Timeless for sure.

I hope that you enjoy the new DSG Volume 2 CD, 19 timeless tracks that you will enjoy playing for many years to come. It's a shame Nigel's
jackets didn't fit me or I might have taken those too HA!!

The CD Pressing are half sold, so you better be quick!

LUV Sympli Whitney

Whitney Marshall a.k.a. Sympli Whitney was born in Springfield, MA in 1976 and raised in Framingham, MA by her two loving parents Benjamin and Lucy Marshall; both devout Christians and ordained Baptist ministers, Whitney's vocal journey started early as a young gospel alto in various church choirs from middle school through college.

During her college years she became more confident in her performance abilities after landing lead female vocals for an up and coming funk band out of Indiana known as The Big Bang Theory. It was in this period of time Whitney began to really show her first true signs of greatness, performing alongside George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelics at Ball State University was the highlight of this time for Sympli Whitney.

After college Whitney joined the work force which led her to an interest in criminal justice. This eagerness to learn found Whitney enlisting in the US Army in 2002 and living abroad for several years before being honorably discharged after suffering an injury while in S. Korea in 2006. Upon return to her family's home in Framingham, Whitney, again driven by her love for helping people, followed a career path in human services, adolescent healthcare, mental health and healthcare administration in which she holds an MBA. All while actively singing lead/co-lead female vocals in a variety of local bands around the Boston area such as Mystique, Nemisis, E-Water Band and Athene Wilson and Friends; all this in addition to forming her own band, perfectly named Sympli Whitney.

In 2014, Sympli Whitney appeared on BET's APOLLO LIVE season 2 airing on September 26th, where she received accolades from the legendary Gladys Knight, Boston's own Michael Bivins and the incomparable Doug E. Fresh! The Judges, searched for words to explain why they enjoyed her performance and why they were each impressed. Whitney has that effect on people. It’s hard to say who she reminds you of because she has a sound and vocal style of her own, yet she could remind you of such legends as Evelyn King, Patrice Rushen or maybe Cherelle. Whitney was one of the featured artists on the 2014 independent release titled “Indie Soul United 2.” She was featured on “7 Days A Week,” “I’d Rather Say Good Morning” and a remake of the Stevie Wonder classic “Black Man.” “ISU 2” reached the #2 spot on the U.K. Soul Chart.

Fast forwarding to the present, Sympli Whitney continues to win fans all over around the world with her soulful voice. Landing on several UK charts, such as the UK Top 30 Soul Chart, early January 2016's release of her freshman album 'Ryze of the Phoenix', would spark a fire that would not dim for almost 8 months! With powerful single remixes like 'The Best' by Colin Watson released on UK Soul designer label DSG, to the bouncy French vinyl release of the double a side 'Get Enuff & Fresh Luv which were captivating nostalgic beats pounding you out of your seat and into a dancing frenzy like you were in the 80's, but with enuff feel for today. It's is no wonder Sympli didn't slow on the UK Soul charts for some time and no wonder why Whitney is featured in all the best of chart for 2016, with her album, 'Ryze of the Phoenix' and singles, 'The Best' & 'Get Enuff' / 'Fresh Love'.

Sympli Whitney has stars in her eyes and with determination will make this her best year yet, with the release of the Colin Watson remix ep of, L.U.V, Get Enuff, and the mid tempo Echoes which has a reggae surprise breakdown init to expanded her yet to another audience of open minded, 80's groovin', 2017 R&B music lovers of the world. Enjoy The Sympli Whitney, Colin Watson remixed' L.U.V ' EP which is released on DSG Friday 20th January 2016.

George Benson Little Anthony Electric Together

Soul / R&B Star Little Anthony and Jazz -Soul Grammy award winning Superstar George Benson penned “Electric Together” with hit maker and successful producer Preston Glass. They recorded the tune at Private Island Audio in Los Angeles, CA where both Little Anthony and George Benson sang lead vocals while incorporating a “classic George Benson” guitar solo.

Anthony Gourdine, better known to the world as Little Anthony, is quite simply a musical legend. His early R&B standards paved the way for the development of soul music, with songs like ‘Going Out Of My Head’, ‘Hurt So Bad’, and ‘Tears on my Pillow’ standing the test of time. With nearly six decades in the music business, Little Anthony is still going strong: performing with his group The Imperials, alongside co-founder Ernest Wright, and due to be performing in the UK next year at the Blackpool International Soul Festival, Anthony is also busy penning his autobiography.
GEORGE BENSON IS A TEN TIME GRAMMY AWARD WINNER
Most impressively, Little Anthony has lost none of his legendary falsetto voice. Similarly, Jazz guitarist turned R&B/soul/pop icon George Benson also shows no sign of slowing down. He continues to perform dates around the world, to one-nighters to dates at prestigious Jazz festivals; in 2013 he put out a brilliant new album in tribute to the late Nat ‘King’ Cole. And now these two icons of popular music have teamed up with producer Preston Glass, famous for his work with Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole among others, to produce an up-tempo duet in ‘Electric Together’. Nigel Lowis has produced, remixed, written & done some legendary work with likes of Dina Carroll, Burt Bacharach, Stevie Wonder, Ola Onabule, Luther Vandross & Marc Staggers. His work has recently topped many Soul charts on his co-owned DSG record label. Lowis's dream was to work with George Benson, so DSG partner Gary Van Den Busche contacted Preston Glass who had just written and produced, "Electric Together" and was excited when he heard Nigel Lowis wanted to remix the song.
(Electric Together Little Anthony, Preston Glass & George Benson)

The song itself is pretty catchy, with an infectious lyric that will have you singing after hearing it just once. It’s a classic Preston Glass production, with Lowis providing a groove for the vocalists to do their thing. Both are in fine voice, and its delightful to hear them both recording together. How Little Anthony, in his seventies, continues to sing so high is truly one of the wonders of the modern world. Benson is also given room by Preston to perform one of his guitar solos, reminiscent of his 70s & 80s hit recordings. This is the first single from a newly created album due on DSG called Soul City People with various artists that we love & respect with Nigel Lowis writing and producing for it as we speak.

Hannah White That's Love

Hannah White is a class act and a singer that could sing her way to the front of any cue. Hannah is a stylish lady of song with romance in her heart that crosses all the musical genre boxes, be it Jazz, Soul, Dance or even swing. When you see Hannah White live, first impressions come to mind of a modern day, Julie London, Peggy Lee or even maybe Sade.

The gloss on the box makes it a very classy affair, whenever your mood, Cocktails, Champagne or indeed just Coffee, Hannah White's ''That's Love'' will fill your room, radio show, dance floor with sheer uplifting bliss like a Strawberry covered in Belgium Chocolate.

Hannah White is currently touring with the UK's #1 Soul singer Kenny Thomas, but has also found time in her busy schedule to sing at, The Caister Soul Music Festival to a sold out crowd, Solar Radio Thames boat party (another sellout) & The Camp Soul Music festival in a field in Oxford supporting the Fatback band.

(Solar Radio's Gary Spence with Hannah White  backstage at The Camp Soul Music Festival in Oxford)

''Sunny Day'' Hannah's previous song featured at #1 in my many charts including, ''The Sweet Rhythms'' chart as well as Amazon's hot new R&B chart. BBC DJ's Paul Miller & John Leech tagged it

The Song Of The Summer as did many others radio DJ's. Hannah is currently co- writing her debut album with producer Nigel Lowis called,'' Lost in Reverie”. Fresh from recording background vocals for new recording by George Benson, Marc Staggers, Freda Payne & The Soul City Album project, Hannah White comes up trumps once again with the irresistible ''That's Love'' which was co- written with Nigel Lowis the songs producer, it's aim is to bring a smile to your face, a glow of delight to your aura and make your body do it's thing, Dance like your in Love!  After all Hannah White is love!

Hannah White That's Love is now released on DSG through iTunes .BUY IT HERE ON iTUNES

STOP PRESS New remix by Joey Nelson
Hannah White's latest single That's Love gets a surprise remix by one of her longtime Pals Joey Nelson. Going back, Hannah White met Joey Nelson at a Roulette table in a Las Vegas casino, as he helped Hannah place few chips on black number 4.
Joey Nelson at the time was getting his orchestra to play a residency at one of the Hotels on the strip, then he heard a whisper that Hannah White was a singer. After Hannah sent Joey the Tapes of her vocals, of That's Love. "The rest is History".

He explained that the Joey Nelson orchestra would love Hannah White to sing with them and this is the proof that great things are afoot …

Joey Nelson is currently writing final chapters to his movie called, Dreamsville in which Hannah White has agreed to sing on the soundtrack album, but for now here is the Joey Nelson remix. One things for sure,
Joey Nelson is back in town … AND That's Love Baby!!

I heard the song and my first thought was wow!! if only Drizabone could remix this gem, then it could be one of the ''Soul tracks of the year'', The song is currently sitting at #1 at #1 on The Sweet Rhythms ChartBilly Freeman of Drizabone is currently working hard, completing his new Drizabone album which looks likely to be set for release next year.

So to this the day, it's been two years since I asked Billy to remix SouLutions rough demo of Listen, which reached #1 in many UK Soul Charts, after he rewrote their backing track. It's been one year since, Ola Onabules Soul Town Soul #1, so i thought it must be time for the UK Modern Soul maestro to hit the mixing desk once again.

Drizabone reached the UK top 30 twice with, ''Real Love'' firstly in 1991 when it reached, #16 and then again with a remix in 1995 when it climbed to #24. Drizabone have had national remix hits with, Lisa Stansfield, Mary J Blidge & Shanice ''I Love Your Smile'' Drizabone remixed changed the songs fortune in 1992 to reach #2 UK & #1 in America where the song in it's original mix had staled.

McCrei - Take My Hand climbs to #1 in the Amazon sales chart!

McCrei were formed in 2012, when the two UK Soul sisters, Leanne and Shannon McCrei began sharing their life experiences through song writing and started gigging on the Camden acoustic circuit. Fast forward three years and the sisters have performed at over 250 gigs including the  O2 Academy, The Hope, Caister Soul Festival, The Cavern, Camp Soul Festival, Funk Is Back, Distillers, Kensington Roof Gardens, Charlie Wrights and various other venues throughout England .

In 2014 the record producer Alan Glass (whose credits include Aretha Franklin, Misteeq and The Lighthouse Family) discovered McCrei on social media and requested to co write with the girls. McCrei wrote four songs to Alan's beats including the song 'I'm Missing You' which is featured on the film 'Last Round', for which McCrei performed in April at the premier in London.

In January 2015 the record label Disco Soul Gold Music (DSG Music) heard McCrei's music being played on Hugh Williams Soulded Out radio show and approached then McCrei resulting in, '' Show Me'' being released as a single through DSG on the 8th June 2015. The song was also remixed by Nigel Lowis (production credits include Dina  Carroll, Eternal, Take That) and reached, #1 on the Soul / R&B sales chart, plus Number 2 in the UK Soul Charts. The track also appears on the new Expansion records,' Soul Togetherness album''. Look out also for a limited edition 7 inch vinyl of Show Me which is now in the shops.

McCrei's second single release of 2015; 'Take My Hand' is now released  on DSG Music, with mixes by Yuki T -Groove, Alan Glass the producer of the song & Nigel Lowis who is also the co-writer along with, Glass & McCrei themselves.

Inspired by an introduction into traditional Soul, Disco and Funk, their music takes some direction while staying true to their signature style. McCrei's musical influences include James Brown, Whitney Houston, Teena Marie, Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone and Aretha Franklin.  The girls recently supported Jean Carn at the Camp Soul Music festival, when the Philly songstress requested the girls to sing to her privately in her changing room.  At the last Caister Soul Weekender the UK Soul Sisters supported Joey Negro, by singing to a crowd of over 3,000  at the sold out weekender.

In  December 2014, Leanne and Shannon were introduced to an experienced musician trio consisting of Tom O.Mitchell, Charlotte Whiting and Neil Cornwell who have since become McCrei's backing band for live shows.

McCrei - Take My Hand is currently climbing both the Soul Charts and download charts, currently #1 on Amazon sales chart and now available to download below.
